Unique Features: This mountainous lake has a breathtaking view. It is included among the highest lakes in Pakistan. Due to its location and scenic beauty, every year many national and international tourists pay a visit to this place.

2. LAKE RETBA – SENEGAL

Location: Cap Vert Peninsula – Senegal

Unique Features: Lake Retba is known as Lac Rose. There is an alga named “Dunaliella salina algae” present in the lake water that gives its water a pinkish color. The water composition is high in salt content.

3. SPOTTED LAKE – CANADA

Location: Osoyoos – British Columbia – Canada

Unique Features: Spotted Lake is unique in its appearance due to mineral deposits. The color of the spotted lake depends on the mineral composition. Magnesium sulfate is a common example of a mineral that gives spots their color.

4. PLITVICE LAKES NATIONAL PARK – CROATIA

Location: Lika-Senj County – Karlovac County – Croatia

Unique Features: This place is the epitome of natural beauty. It is one of the oldest national parks listed on the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Swimming is not allowed in the lakes because the park is evaluated in protected areas.

7. ANSOO LAKE – PAKISTAN

Location: Kaghan – Manoor Valley – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa – Himalaya – Pakistan

Location: Potosí – ‎Bolivia

Unique Features: Shallow Lake is widely known as the red lagoon. The composition of this water has a huge concentration of salt that makes it a salt lake. It covers over 6000 hectares area but not even 1 meter deep. The red lagoon’s appearance is basically due to minerals and algae present in the water.
