Endemic or Native Fish Species of Pakistan

Endemic fish species of Pakistan refers to the species of fish which only occur in the water bodies of Pakistan or only few other specific geographic locations in the world. Some fish are unique to Pakistan and in turn make Pakistan unique due to their uniqueness! But due to uncontrolled water pollution and the degradation of the water bodies in Pakistan, as well as the over-exploitation and fishing, these native species are under a threat of going extinct. Their extinction would mean a blow to the food web of that particular water body as food chains and food webs have an extremely delicate balance. So we should try to protect these native fish species of Pakistan. Below is a list of some native or endemic fish species of Pakistan. Check them out!
